Central Valley is a leader in dimensional lumber sales in Northern California. Each year we supply over 100 million board feet. Whether it’s a large multi-family project, or a small home improvement task, we have the right grade and type of lumber you need, from pre-cut stud trims to 20-foot lengths of 2x4 through 2x12. All our lumber comes from sustainable forest lands and is agency grade stamped so you know you’re getting the quality and performance you need for your job, backed by the most stringent grade associations. And if we don’t have something – we will get it for you.

We stock a variety of treated wood products for your many projects. A wide assortment of lumber and timbers used in decks, landscaping and other ground contact applications as well as fire-treated material for those jobs that require the ultimate in protection. All of our treated wood meets the California building codes so you can buy and build with confidence.

Central Valley carries the Boise Cascade line of Engineered Wood Products, which include BCI Joists, Versa Lam, Versa Stud, Versa Rim, and Glulam, all manufactured in a variety of widths, depths and lengths. We can also design your floor system for maximum efficiency and safety - precision cutting I-Joists with our Boise Sawtek saw, so your job packs meets exact measurements, and you don’t waste any material.

We stock timbers from 4x4 through 4x12, and 6x6 through 6x12 - all beautiful Douglas Fir and surfaced on all four sides. Larger sizes and finishes are available through special order. Central Valley is the largest distributor in Northern California of Rosboro’s Manufactured Timbers (RMT). RMT’s are a glulam product that is produced for appearance and strength. Manufactured to uniform dimensions, it's completely interchangeable with solid-sawn timber of the same size and grade. And, because it's kiln-dried to a moisture content of less than 15 percent before assembly, it resists twisting, splitting, cupping, and warping, which are common problems with solid-sawn green timber. Perfect for those jobs with demanding specifications and exposed beams.

While all of our dimension and framing lumber comes from sustainable forest lands, we also provide responsibly harvested lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®). At Central Valley, we take the stewardship of our natural resources very seriously and are proud to be part of the push for “green building.” Ask us about our FSC-certified products. Plywood and OSB (Oriented Strand Board) are among the most versatile building products we stock. Their uses are virtually unlimited, and we have a full complement of sizes, thicknesses, and finishes to accommodate your need. Because of the unique design of panels (the grain of the wood is layered perpendicularly), they offer incredible structural strength and load-bearing capability. In addition to strength, with the machinability and ease of cutting and sanding, these panels can be used in cabinets, storage areas, or any number of finish jobs. We carry the full spectrum of plywood: cabinet, exterior, structural grades. Our panels are all agency stamped to ensure proper grades are used.

Outdoor living in California is easy when you have the right materials for a long lasting deck. California is known for redwoods, and we stock 2x6 decking in a Deck Heart grade, and have the 2x2 balusters available in either clear or Heart B grades. All redwood sold at Central Valley is harvested from sustainably managed forests along California’s coast. We also carry kiln-dried, Western Red Cedar. An excellent alternative to redwood, cedar offers a unique wood grain, and similar knot structure to redwood, with unsurpassed natural beauty. Cedar is often chosen by deck builders as it is extremely stable - reduced warping, shrinking, swelling, cupping or twisting. Central Valley offers only the highest quality cedar - select tight knot (STK) grade, surfaced four sides (S4S). For those interested in composite decking, Central Valley carries Trex, the world’s #1 composite decking brand. With a warranty like no other, Trex offers an eco-friendly alternative to those who don’t want to sand and stain their decks. Just as the exterior trim sets off your house, the interior moulding can distinguish a room with its unique features and looks. We stock Kelleher’s premium pine assortment and poplar - two species of wood that are easy to cut and work with, and which readily accept paint and stain for a long-lasting finish. We also stock MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), should you need a solid, no defect, piece of material.

Central Valley stocks redwood fencing in 1x6 and 1x8 square top and dog-eared construction heart. We carry 2x4 redwood railing and 4x4 redwood posts to match your fencing project. For trellis, gazebo, or pergola projects, we carry redwood rough in 1x4 through 6x6. Don't forget railroad ties and redwood edging to complete your landscaping needs.
