Trellis and Planting
From The Ground Up
The Brands We Trust

Vertical Line Posts
AKA rolled edge post, rolled form steel, and highway post; these are attractive options compared to wooden posts because they are relatively easy to handle and install. But not all metal posts are created equal. Some posts have questionable lateral strength and are not designed for supporting large crops in windy locations, while others may be difficult to use with complex trellis designs. We'll help you find what's right for you.
Vineyard Wire
This creates a variety of canopy designs (most commonly VSP - vertical shoot position) and is used to attach drip tubing for irrigation. Vineyard wire offers the combination of a smooth, flawless finish with the toughness that comes from a high tensile wire. Available in small and more manageable layer wound 100 lbs. coil sizes. Wire comes in multiple gauges (9 through 14) and with a Class III zinc coating and various high carbon tensile. Common and in-stock gauges are 12, 13, 14.
T-Posts
These affordable posts are used for vineyards with low tonnage per acre. Available in .95, 1.25, and 1.333 weights, custom lengths from 5ft to 10ft in 6" increments, Rail or Billet steel, with or without a spade (anchor plate), and with or without paint. As well, we offer a galvanized option for increased longevity, compared to bare steel.
Training Stakes
Helps young vines grow and establish strong rooting systems. Affordable and short-term options include bamboo stakes, cut rebar, and smooth pencil rods.
End Posts & Earth Anchors
This option depends on row length, soil type, & personal preference. In very loose or sandy soil, an anchor can add additional strength to the end assembly, especially useful for longer rows. If using a steel end posts made from reclaimed oil drilling pipe, one or two spades may be used to take the place of an anchor. End posts are in stock. Earth anchors are available by special order.
Wire Joining & Tension Systems
Often referred to by the brand name of Gripple, this creates strong and taut trellising for vines to grow and produce fruit above ground. The simple design and application is as speedy as it is painless, creating a secure join that keeps your time, labor, and hassle to a minimum. Installation is minimized and annual maintenance is negligible.
Vine Protectors & Grow Tubes
Helps newly planted vines adapt to the vineyard environment upon transplanting. They protect the plant from excessive sun rays and wind, deflect heat, deter rodents and guard against herbicide spray, assuring a more uniform crop.
